St Edmund's Church offers a Service EVERY SUNDAY at 10.30am,
which lasts about 60mins.
Also, quiet SERVICES during the week*, lasting about 30mins—
Tuesdays— 9.30am
Wednesdays— 7.00pm
Thursdays— 9.30am.
After the COVID-19 pandemic
perhaps not everyone feels comfortable coming back into a crowd?
If that's you, we do understand.
But if you don't have a medical reason for isolating,
we do encourage you to be a bit brave and attend IN PERSON.
There is plenty of personal space between people,
we do not yet make a general exchange of the Sign of Peace,
receiving the chalice is at your discretion –
in receiving the Host only, you still receive the whole Christ,
He can't be divided! (This is known as 'concomitance'.)
Sadly, the Pandemic
hasn't lessened the costs of the Church!
The cost 'to us' of running the Church (before repairs)
is roughly £1,000 a WEEK (that is, £50,000+ a YEAR).
And that's even with the 50+% discount on the cost of deploying a Priest that we already receive from the Diocese of Ely
(i.e. other parishioners in other pews of the Diocese).
The 2022 rocket in energy costs means that church heating
now costs £10,000 a year!
